This past weekend we went to the Museum of Flight with some friends. I was excited to check out the museum and try out my new camera. Dan used to go when he was younger, and our friend works at Boeing so it was great to get some inside knowledge and not just look at the planes. I enjoyed playing our with the camera, but I definitely have a lot to learn! I have a few books and now I’m just waiting for a free, sunny weekend to go out and explore.

This weekend was filled with lots of sporting events, girl time and food. We went to a Seattle Thunderbirds hockey game in Kent Friday night with some friends. It was fun to go to a game since we haven’t been to a sporting event since the Seahawks game for my birthday. Saturday I spent the day wedding dress shopping with one of my friends and we found beautiful ones at Dress Theory in Green Lake. We had time before our next appointment so we stopped in at Revel in Fremont. I’ve never been before, but I’ve heard great things. They describe themselves as “Urban-style Korean food”, but I found it to be a great mix of Northwest and Asian food. We shared an amazing pork belly monkey bread and I ordered the short rib rice bowl. One of my friends ordered a rice porridge bowl and it was delicious. I don’t think I could choose between the two next time! Saturday night I went out in Capitol Hill to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and I woke up Sunday morning realizing I was no longer 22. Sunday consisted of laying around, watching the Super Bowl and commercials, and eating homemade meatballs. It was a great weekend to start off February!
Hello! Do you guys remember me? I apologize, I essentially took the summer off. Life was getting crazy with constant wedding plannings and wedding weekends (not mine, so no surprises there!). Here’s a quick peak at what I’ve been up to for the past 2 months. There was a big move, trip to Walnut Creek, Ca for a wedding, multiple bridal shower and bacherolette parties, another wedding, weekend trips, boating, and food, lots of food. It took awhile for the sun to show up, but when it did, it brought the heat as well! Hope your summer is going well! Recipes are soon to come!
Whew, it’s Monday already? This weekend flew by. I finally got hit with the late-2os wave as I spent my weekend at a baby shower and lots of wedding planning! Don’t worry, not mine. I’m sure as soon as I get engaged I will be blabbering about it non-stop.
My friend and I were in charge of games for the baby shower. If you ever need any ideas, I suggest – baby bingo – fill out a bingo card with presents you expect the mom-to-be to open; the safety pin game – each person gets a safety pin, if they say the magic words *we used “cute”, “baby” and “girl”, they must give their safety pin to someone who hears, the one with most pin wins; and guess the celebrity baby – show photos of celebrity babies and try to guess who their mom is! Tie-breaker, name as many babies as you can!
The rest of Saturday and Sunday were spent visiting with my friend from Chicago who is getting married at the end of summer. I never knew searching for dresses could be so exhausting! I had a great time though and am excited for my friends getting married this summer! I was excited to come home though and chill with Dan and the cat after such a hectic weekend.
Hello! It’s been awhile, I apologize. It’s the holiday season and I’ve been running around to multiple engagements as I’m sure you all have as well!
Lots has happened in the past few weeks, I celebrated my 27th birthday, got a Christmas tree and decorated, went to multiple Christmas parties and Dan got put on a special diet by his doctor. It’s back to gluten-free and vegan in our household. Well, only when eating with Dan, I’ve been sneaking meat and cheese during the work day. I’m a horrible girlfriend, I know. It also doesn’t help that I’ve been baking up a storm in the kitchen. Recipes will come tomorrow!
The weekend flew by quickly but was again filled with friends and great food, as well as some dancing adventures.
Friday evening was dinner with Dan and his mom at the Wallingford Pizza House, the closest thing Seattle will ever come to Chicago-style pizza.
We stopped by a birthday party after (Happy belated birthday Stacey!!) Then it was home early to finish some last minute things before the wedding.
The wedding was a great success and a lot of fun. It being my first wedding I was in, I had no idea what to expect or do, so I showed up with a bottle of champagne and my Ipod filled with music.
The reception was held at Georgetown Stables which was a fabulously fun location located right next to the Georgetown Trailer Park (Don’t worry, not a REAL trailer park, more like a bunch of food trucks and shops based out of trailers) There was a taco truck and Georgetown beer, lots of music and bouquet catching. I have no pictures from the night as I was too busy gettin’ down and gettin’ my grub/drink on.
Sunday was Seahawks football and recuperating from Saturday night. The weather continued to be gorgeous and warm all weekend, but now fall has started to show up and the days are dark, grey and a bit chilly. The evenings have been beautiful though with the sun starting to peak through around 5 o’clock. I love autumn, but the nights getting darker is starting to throw me off, especially since we are just now starting to have a summer! I hope the rest of September is sunny and warm, and mid-October it starts to get chilly but still sunny.
